Every product decision at MailerMen starts with a question nobody can answer from an existing dashboard. Your job is to turn those questions into SQL.
The work
Over three months you will own reporting for the employer side of the marketplace. You will query Postgres tables covering job postings, applications and recruiter logins, then publish the results as Metabase dashboards that account managers actually open on a Monday morning. Your first project is a funnel report tracking a job post from creation through to first shortlist, broken down by city and by employer size.
How you will learn
You will pair with a senior analyst twice a week for query reviews, where we go through indexes, window functions and why your CTE ran for forty seconds. Nothing arrives as a finished spec. You get a vague business question, you work out what it really means, and you come back with numbers and a recommendation.
By the end
You will have shipped dashboards people check daily, sorted out a metric definitions document that stops three teams arguing about what an active employer is, and written a lot of SQL against genuinely messy production data instead of a tidy tutorial extract. Hybrid, three days a week in our Bengaluru office.
Responsibilities
- Write and tune SQL queries against production tables covering job posts, applications and recruiter activity
- Build and maintain Metabase dashboards for the growth, sales and account management teams
- Own the employer funnel report from job creation through to first shortlist, split by city and company size
- Answer ad hoc business questions in writing, with the query and the caveats attached
- Maintain a shared metric definitions document so teams stop disagreeing about what an active employer is
- Chase down data quality problems you find while querying instead of working around them
Requirements
- Final year student or recent graduate in any quantitative or technical discipline
- Comfortable writing joins, aggregations and subqueries in SQL without a reference open
- Able to explain a chart to someone who has never seen the underlying table
- Willing to work from our Bengaluru office three days a week
- Curious about business context, not only query syntax
