Meridian Gulf Digital is hiring a mobile engineer in Abu Dhabi. Mobile is where our product meets people who are standing up, in a hurry and on a connection that comes and goes. App size, cold start and offline behaviour are product decisions here, not optimisations to be done later if there is time.
Salaries in the UAE are advertised and paid MONTHLY and are free of income tax, which makes a straight comparison against an annual European or Indian figure misleading in both directions. Read the range below as what lands each month.
You will ship features through a real release train, including staged rollouts and the occasional decision to hold a build. Alongside that comes the work that never appears on a roadmap: crash triage, startup time, and keeping the app pleasant on devices that are several years old. The role is on-site in Abu Dhabi, which is where the team and most of our customers are.
This is a mid-level role. You should already be able to take a loosely specified problem, break it down and ship it without close supervision. We want someone who has shipped to a store and then lived with what they shipped. Native depth or serious cross-platform experience are both fine; caring about what happens between a tap and a frame is not optional.
The working week runs Monday to Friday, the company sponsors employment visas for the successful candidate and their dependants, and relocation is arranged and paid for. The range shown is a MONTHLY figure, which is how this market advertises salaries — it is not an annual number.
Meridian Gulf Digital is the technology arm of a Gulf retail bank. We build the mobile app, the onboarding flow and the payments rails behind them, serving customers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in Arabic and English.
Everything we ship is bilingual and right-to-left from the first commit rather than as a later translation pass, and everything touching money is reconciled daily. The regulatory bar is high and the engineering culture is built around it.
Our offices are in Dubai Internet City and Abu Dhabi. Salaries here are quoted and paid monthly and are free of income tax, and the company sponsors employment visas and relocation for candidates joining from abroad.
