Read this before you apply

Two months is short. We have shaped this internship around a single deliverable so that you leave with one finished thing rather than three half built ones.

The deliverable

MailerMen exposes a public jobs API that partner sites use to syndicate our listings. It has no versioning story, no rate limiting, and documentation that drifted out of date last spring. You will fix all three. Concretely: introduce URL based versioning behind an ASP.NET Core API version convention, add a fixed window rate limiter keyed on the partner API key, and generate OpenAPI documents straight from the code so the docs cannot silently drift again. A partner integration guide written in your own words is part of the scope, not an afterthought.

The arrangement

This is an unpaid position and we put that near the top on purpose. You work from the Delhi NCR office two days a week, sitting beside the API team, and every change you propose goes through the same design review a full time engineer would face. Nothing gets waved through because you are an intern, and nothing gets dismissed for that reason either.

Responsibilities

  • Introduce URL based API versioning across the public jobs endpoints
  • Implement a fixed window rate limiter keyed on partner API keys
  • Generate OpenAPI documents from the codebase and wire them into the docs site
  • Rewrite the partner integration guide with working request and response samples
  • Add contract tests that fail the build when a response shape changes
  • Present your design in the weekly API review before you implement it

Requirements

  • Final year student or recent graduate in any engineering or science discipline
  • Understanding of HTTP verbs, status codes and JSON payloads
  • Some C# practice from coursework or personal projects
  • Able to be in the Delhi NCR office two days each week
  • No previous internship or job experience needed

Skills

Benefits

  • Certificate + Letter of Recommendation
  • A seat with the API team and a standing place in the weekly design review
  • Your integration guide published under your byline on our developer docs
