The problem you are walking into

MailerMen's candidate dashboard has grown faster than its design language. Three different button styles, two spacing scales, and a colour ramp nobody can explain. Over this six month internship you will help fix that.

What you will build

You start with an inventory of every component scattered across our Figma files, then rebuild the survivors as proper variants with auto layout and sensible naming. Once buttons, inputs, form fields and cards are stable, you move on to the application tracker screens, which are the most used part of the product and the least designed. Expect to hand off specs to two frontend engineers and to sit in the standups where your tokens turn into CSS variables.

How you will be supported

Our lead designer reviews your files twice a week, in writing first so you have something to reread, then live. You will present one component of your choosing to the whole product team each month, which is uncomfortable the first time and useful every time after. By the end you will have a documented library that other designers open daily, plus a portfolio case study built on a real product with real usage numbers behind it.

Responsibilities

  • Audit every component across our Figma files and produce a deduplication plan with a clear naming convention
  • Rebuild core components as variants with auto layout, sensible constraints and documented usage rules
  • Define spacing, radius and typography tokens and map them to the CSS variables the frontend team consumes
  • Redesign the application tracker screens using the new library
  • Write component documentation pages a new designer can follow without asking anyone
  • Hand off specs to two frontend engineers and review their implementation in a staging build
  • Present one component or pattern to the wider product team each month

Requirements

  • Final year student or recent graduate in design, HCI, or any field if the portfolio is strong
  • Comfortable in Figma with auto layout, variants and component properties
  • A portfolio with at least one multi screen interface, personal or academic work is fine
  • Able to explain why a spacing or hierarchy decision was made, not just that it looks right
  • Available to work from our Bengaluru office three days a week

Skills

Benefits

  • Monthly stipend paid on the first working day
  • Twice weekly written and live critique from the design lead
  • Your library used daily by the product team long after you leave
  • Full time offer considered for interns who ship
  • Internship certificate on completion
