Senior Python Engineer, Pricing Models

About the role

Bellrock Analytics is hiring a Python engineer in London. This is a product engineering role in Python rather than a notebook role: services, scheduled work and the libraries around them, all of it tested and deployed like any other production code. If you have wanted Python work with real engineering discipline attached, this is that.

Hiring in the UK means competing with London salaries wherever the role actually sits, so we pay a single national band rather than discounting outside the M25.

What the work actually looks like

You will build and maintain services and pipelines, tighten the interfaces between them, and spend a fair share of your time on correctness — typed boundaries, tests that fail for the right reason, and data validation at the edges. There is regular pairing with the people who own the domain logic. The team works a hybrid week out of London, usually three days together and the rest wherever you work best.

What we look for

This is a senior individual-contributor role. You will be expected to push back on requirements that do not make sense and to set the technical direction for your part of the product. We are looking for command of the standard library, comfort with type hints and a real testing habit. Experience with FastAPI, Django or a serious data stack is welcome; the ability to reason about a slow query or a memory profile is what we will actually probe.
