What you will be writing

MailerMen publishes around forty new pages a month, from explainers on internship interview questions to city landing pages for the job board. Over three months you take a slice of that calendar and own it end to end: the brief, the draft, the internal links, the meta title, the publish.

How the work runs

Every Monday you sit with the content lead, pick targets from our keyword tracker, and go and write. Most pieces run eight hundred to fifteen hundred words and pass through one editing round before they ship. You will learn to write for a search intent instead of a word count, to place internal links people actually click, and to open Search Console to see which of your headings pulled impressions and which sank.

What you walk away with

By the end you have a portfolio of published, indexed, ranking pages with your byline on them, plus a real sense of why three of your articles reached page one and two did not. That distinction is most of the job.

The role is hybrid: two days a week in the Indiranagar office for planning and edits, the rest wherever you write best. Bring two writing samples, however scrappy.

Responsibilities

  • Write and publish six to eight search-led articles a month against briefs from the content calendar
  • Research the search intent behind each target keyword before drafting an outline
  • Write meta titles and descriptions that earn clicks rather than just filling the character limit
  • Add internal links to relevant job categories and older articles in every piece you publish
  • Format posts in the CMS, including image alt text, headings and author fields
  • Refresh underperforming older articles using Search Console query data
  • Bring two topic ideas to the Monday content planning call

Requirements

  • Final-year student or recent graduate in any discipline, no professional experience needed
  • Clear written English and a genuine willingness to be edited
  • Two or three writing samples from a college blog, newsletter or personal site
  • Basic understanding of how search engines decide what to rank
  • Able to be in the Bengaluru office two days a week

Skills

Benefits

  • Weekly line-by-line editing sessions with the content lead
  • Published bylines you can show any future employer
  • Internship completion certificate
  • First consideration for a full-time content role
