Peregrine Remote is hiring a full stack developer on a fully remote basis. You will own features end to end: the schema, the endpoint, the interface and whatever it takes to keep all three working afterwards. That breadth is the point of the role — nothing gets thrown over a wall, and nobody has to wait a sprint for another team to expose a field.
We hire anywhere and pay one global band in US dollars rather than discounting by country, because the work is the same wherever it is done. Contracts are arranged through a local employer of record where we cannot employ you directly.
Weeks vary. Some are mostly interface work with design, some are mostly data modelling and query tuning, and some are spent on the unglamorous seams in between. You will be trusted to decide where a piece of logic belongs and to say so when a requirement would make the system harder to change later. The role is fully remote and we hire from anywhere the overlap window works.
This is a senior individual-contributor role. You will be expected to push back on requirements that do not make sense and to set the technical direction for your part of the product. We are looking for someone who is genuinely comfortable on both sides rather than a specialist who tolerates the other one. You should be able to design a reasonable schema, write a component you would not mind maintaining, and deploy the result without needing a hand.
The team is asynchronous by default: decisions are written down, the meeting load is low, and we ask only for a four-hour overlap with Central European Time. The range shown is the annual gross salary band for this role.
Peregrine Remote makes asynchronous planning software for distributed engineering teams: written proposals, decision records and a roadmap that does not require everyone to be awake at the same time. We use it to run ourselves, which keeps us honest.
There is no head office and there never has been. The company has hired in nineteen countries, pays one global band in US dollars with no location discount, and asks only for a four-hour overlap with Central European Time.
Everything important is written down. If a decision only exists in a call, it did not happen — that rule is the single reason a company this distributed can move at all.
