Roughly forty thousand people open MailerMen every week to look for a startup job, and most of them meet us through a fifteen second vertical video first.

The daily work

Over three months at our Andheri office you will cut for Instagram and LinkedIn: hiring manager soundbites, salary breakdown explainers, and the weekly roles-closing-Friday round-up. Footage lands from two shooters and an iPhone rig, usually unlabelled, so part of the job is building a sane bin structure before you open a timeline. You will assemble in Premiere Pro, animate captions and lower thirds in After Effects, and deliver 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9 versions of the same story.

How you will get better

Every Monday the content pod reads retention graphs together. You will start to see why a viewer drops at second three, and what swapping the opening frame does to that curve. By around week six most interns own a full week of social output, with review limited to hooks and thumbnails.

Who tends to enjoy this

Send a reel, even a rough one. College fests, wedding cuts and gaming montages all count here. We are looking at whether you can hold a rhythm and cut to a beat, not at how expensive your gear is.

Responsibilities

  • Cut two to four vertical videos a day for Instagram Reels and LinkedIn from raw interview and B-roll footage
  • Build and maintain the project bin structure, proxies and naming convention for each week's shoot
  • Animate burned-in captions, lower thirds and end cards in After Effects using our existing template pack
  • Reframe and export every edit in 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9 without recutting from scratch
  • Sync music beds and clean up interview audio so speech stays intelligible on phone speakers
  • Log the hook, length and retention curve of each published cut in the content tracker
  • Sit in on Monday performance reviews and pitch two hook variations for the following week

Requirements

  • Final-year student or recent graduate in any discipline, no professional experience needed
  • A portfolio or reel of at least three edits, personal or academic projects are completely fine
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, including multicam and basic keyframing
  • Comfortable working from our Mumbai office three days a week
  • Able to take blunt feedback on a cut and turn it around the same day

Skills

Benefits

  • Monthly stipend paid on the first working day
  • One-to-one review sessions with our content lead every week
  • Full credit on published work and a portfolio you can actually show
  • Internship certificate on completion
  • Strong shot at a full-time editor role on the content pod
