Post at a small company means one person owns a file from the moment the card comes out of the camera to the moment it goes live, and for six months that person is partly you.

Scope of the role

We shoot a monthly hiring documentary series that follows one candidate through applications, interviews and their first week at a startup. Each episode runs around twelve minutes and eats about two terabytes of footage. You will handle offload and checksums, build the Resolve project, sync the lav and camera audio, cut the assembly, then take it through grade and delivery. Nothing here is a training exercise, the episodes publish.

Learning the whole chain

Resolve is the tool because it lets you stay in one application from edit through Fairlight and Fusion to delivery. You will get real time on node-based grading, matching a Sony and a Canon in the same scene, and rescuing a lav that picked up a ceiling fan. Deliverables go out in three specs, and getting one wrong is how you learn why the spec sheet exists.

The setup in Pune

Hybrid, with the grading station and archive drives in our Baner office. Heavy conform days happen there, assembly and paper edits can happen anywhere.

Responsibilities

  • Offload camera cards, run checksums and maintain the project archive on shared storage
  • Sync lavalier and camera audio, then build first assemblies of documentary episodes in DaVinci Resolve
  • Grade footage with node trees, matching shots across two camera bodies in the same scene
  • Clean dialogue in Fairlight, removing hum, fan noise and clipping before the mix
  • Build simple titles, maps and callouts in Fusion for each episode
  • Export deliverables to three separate specs for YouTube, the website and paid social
  • Keep a shot log and a running list of missing coverage for the next shoot day

Requirements

  • Final-year student or recent graduate in film or media, or self-taught with work to show
  • Hands-on familiarity with DaVinci Resolve, even at a hobbyist level
  • An eye for continuity and a habit of noticing when two shots do not match
  • Willing to work from the Pune office on conform and grading days
  • Careful with file naming, backups and version control

Skills

Benefits

  • Monthly stipend across the full six months
  • Hands-on time on a calibrated grading station
  • Credited on every episode of the documentary series
  • Structured feedback session at the close of each episode cycle
  • Priority consideration for our full-time post team
